Do I need to cancel Apple Music after free offer?

Hi

I have Apple Music subscription which I have had for several years.. I’ve just got an upgrade on my phone which includes free Apple Music. Do I need to cancel my original subscription?

It is quite possible that the offer of a free trial period is only for people who have never previously had a trial or a subscription.

The footnote that I saw on the Apple site would seem to confirm this: “◊ New subscribers only. $10.99/month

per month after trial. Offer is available for new Apple Music subscribers with a new eligible device for a limited time only.”

In which case, canceling your current subscription would not get you any free months - but simply result in your loss of access to the service.
