Cancel app subscription not in settings, only Apple Pay

How do I cancel an app subscription that doesn’t appear under ‘Subscriptions’ in my iPhone settings, but only shows in the Apple Pay transactions? The app company says they don’t manage these payments and I have to contact Apple Support.

What is the exact description of the charge you see on your credit card statement? That may be the easiest way to determine who is actually billing you and then you will know where you need to go to cancel. If it say apple.com/bill or something similar to that then it is Apple billing you and if it has Fitnexa anywhere in the description on your credit card statement, then you know they are billing you correctly.

Since you don't see it in your Subscriptions that are managed by Apple, then that is also a good indication that Fitnexa is billing you directly. They would be billing you directly if you started the subscription on that companies website, and if you check on their website, they also have the steps to take to manage those subscriptions including cancelling them. Visit support.apple.com/billing to review your purchases, subscriptions, and billing details. If. you're being billed by Apple.com then you should see the subscription on your. account (or that of a family member if you have family sharing). If you're not being billed by apple.com then you'll need to contact the biller.

What is the app?

An app subscription managed by Apple will appear in your subscriptions list. Otherwise you have the subscription that was made with the company directly and paid with the card you have in your Wallet. Purchases managed by Apple use the card you have added to your Apple Account and you can find that by going to Settings > [name on top] > Payment & Shipping. If that payment method is not the one where you see the charge, then that confirms you have a subscription with the App directly and does not involve Apple.

In addition to the Subscriptions list for those managed by Apple, you would also see the price of the purchase when the subscription was started in your Purchase History. If you are the Organizer of a Family plan that uses Purchase Sharing, then members are authorized to use your payment method and you will have the option to also view their purchases here.

Thank you! Following that link took me to the place to cancel it! Not sure why Fitnexa support couldn’t have explained that.

You are welcome.

The one thing I can add is to be careful on Social Media sites, there are contributors that are paid to provide referrals to websites and many of those result in free trials that lead to inadvertent subscriptions. In most cases, since they are website subscriptions, the charges will appear whether you download an app or not.
