M1 Mac mini disconnects USB storage after Tahoe 26.4 update

m1 Mac mini running Version 26.4 (25E246) has begun disconnecting my USB attached storage. A reboot re-attaches to this storage. This appears to have begun with Tahoe 26.4 update.

Maybe I should have been clearer. My USB attached drive has been in use with my M1 Mac mini for quite a while now. The disconnection has only begun since the latest Tahoe upgrade.

I have my family photos stored on this USB drive and the ScreenSaver is configured to show these photos and some photos are used as the wallpaper on various desktops that I use.

I can try different ports on the M1 I suppose (the cable has one end's connection that is specific to the enclosure containing the NVME drive, so It can't easily be swapped). BTW, powering off and on the USB enclosure once Tahoe has detected it being "removed" doesn't result in the M1 detecting a new USB device being attached. Only a reboot results in the USB drive being detected again.
