For the past few days, I have been experiencing an issue where a few keys on my keyboard are not responding.
I even purchased a new keyboard. The problem persists.
MacOS Squoia 15.7.5.

An "i" resulting in "8" suggests a possible issue with the physical keyboard, as the two keys are adjacent.
I would try with a different keyboard and see if the issue remains. If not, it is probably a hardware issue.
