MacBook Pro screen has stripes and shuts down during login

Help. My laptop was working fine last night. I opened it up this morning and I got stripes running through my screen and it won’t let me get past typing my password when choosing the user. Then halfway through it just turns off and then automatically bring me back to the first step.

it’s a MacBook Pro

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.7

is this an Apple-silicon Mac? or an Intel Mac?

An Apple-silicon Mac showing stripes is showing you what is happening to its main RAM memory. Stripes suggests a major RAM failure.

I concur with Smilin-Brian that you need to make a service appointment.

If you have an Apple-owned store available, your appointment for an evaluation and quote is Free, in warranty or out.

¿What is the date of your most recent file backup, and by what method?

If you submit your Mac for service, your files will generally NOT be returned to you.
