How to use a thumb drive with MacBook Air

If you have both old and new devices with different USB port types, there are some thumb drives that have both plug types on one drive, like this:

I'm guessing you need a USB-C to USB A adapter or a hub so you can plug it in.

If that's not what you meant, you need to explain a little further what the problem is.
