Display issue after updating iPadOS to 26.4.1

I just updated from iPadOS 26.4.0 (I am pretty sure -- I had let this ipad update last week) to 26.4.1. This is on an ipad mini 5th generation. Now the bottom 5mm of the screen seems to be the top 5mm of the screen interlaced with the actual bottom 5mm of the screen. It seems unlikely that such a bug would make it out of apple, and that this is a hardware problem, but this ipad serves as my desk clock, and I look at it multiple times every day including immediately before the update. So it could be a coincidence that the hardware developed this issue during the update, or it's a software bug. Does anyone else have a mini gen 5 running the latest ipadOS to confirm or deny that's where the issue is?

If the problem persists after performing a forced restart, begin with resetting your iPad settings. While this reset will not cause any loss of data, as a precaution, it is always wise to ensure that you have a current iCloud or iTunes backup before performing the reset:

When you are happy to proceed, you can perform the reset from iPad settings:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset All Settings

If the problem still doesn’t clear, the next step is to reset the iPad to factory settings:

Otherwise, you would be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support - and request a remote diagnostic test of your iPad. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page. Alternatively and perhaps easier, you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might need to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad - and you can explore your available options:
