I have a brand new USB-C Apple Pencil out of the box,it was plugged in to charge for almost three hours and it still wont connect to my IPad Air 5th gen. Does it not work on it anymore because of the update? I can’t afford anything higher than the USB-C pencil right now and I hope I didn’t waste money by buying this if it wont work.
Help would be appreciated.

You can use Apple Pencil (USB-C) only with these iPad models and iPadOS 17.1.1 or later:
