desktops (spaces) windows management

i have a chrome window on desktop 1 (space 1)

ill call that window (window A)

i have another chrome window on desktop 2

ill call that window (window B)

when i open the screen that shows the desktops (spaces) at the top going across horizontizally

and then when i click on desktop 1 and drag and move it over on top of window on desktop 2

it does not add (window A) on top of (window B) within desktop 2

like it does on windows 10 and 11

instead it moves (window A) to desktop 3

how fix this

is there a setting
