Mac Mini M4 error adding Brother printer for Wi-Fi

Have you installed any third-party AV, protecting, cleaning software or a VPN on the Mac mini…?

If so, uninstall those as per the developers directions and then try adding the Wi-Fi printer.

If not try resetting the Mac mini’s printing system.

Then if those do not help, check or turn off your Firewall in Settings.

Downloading the Drivers:

IMPORTANT:

Create a Time Machine Backup prior to the installation. That way, you can have something to restore it from, should anything go working afterwards.

Install Firmware Updates:

AirPrint is the printer protocol of the macOS. So, all is fine with the drivers — It is the “firmware” that you may need to be install.

About Firmware Updates:

The firmware will install bug fixes as they are released. So, that is what to install. It is installed into the printer itself —not the Mac. So, see if you can install the firmware. As long as your computer is connected to the Internet, it will get them from Brother.
