Wi-Fi Call Failed on Mac AGAIN after I had google gemini suggest some steps to fix it days ago. Why does this keep happening?

It's April 15th. I wrote about this issue in a different post on April 4th. When my iphone rings, there's always a pop up on my Mac Studio desktop that allows me to answer the call on my desktop. And about 2 ish weeks ago when I tried to pick up the call from the desktop, it said call failed (when it usually always works). So I asked Google Gemini to suggest a bunch of steps to help fix it. We tried a bunch of things, so I'm not immediately sure which step fixed it. But I had someone call me to test whether it was fixed or not (around april 4th) and it was fixed. So fast forward to April 14th ish, I try to answer a call on my desktop and yet again it says call failed when I had fixed it days ago. So now I have to troubleshoot this all over again. Why does this keep happening? Is it a Tahoe OS issue? I dont remember this issue being so frequent in the past. It also said call failed back in the fall of 2025. Issue is on Tahoe 26.3.1 (a), I am upgrading to Tahoe 26.4.1 as we speak. lets see if that fixes the issue.

There's nothing wrong with the wifi. wifi calling has always worked up until the past few months and nothing has changed with the internet or wifi or settings. Again i fixed wifi calling and it was working fine on April 4th- ish. After I upgraded to Tahoe 26.4.1, i started to follow these instructions Make a call with Wi-Fi Calling - Apple Support and

found it really peculiar that when i opened Facetime app on my desktop I got 2 separate pop ups.

Pop up message #1 "Do you want to upgrade to Wi-Fi calls on the mac? You can turn this on now, or set it up later in FaceTime settings" but i've always had it setup. so that tells me this is a mac glitch/bug issue. The buttons to choose from are "enable" and "not now" and i chose enable.

Pop up message #2 "Upgrade to Wi-Fi Calling? When you join a network, information about the country or region where the network connection is made may be sent to your carrier for details like billing. For short code calls, the city will be sent for call routing purposes. You can change this in preferences." The buttons to choose from are "enable" and "cancel" and i chose enable.

Then i went to iphone -> settings -> cellular -> Wi-Fi calling, and i toggeld on "add wi-fi calling for other devices". not sure why that was turned off, I never turned it off. So now I'm waiting for someone to call me to see if the "call failed" issue is fixed or not.

someone called me just now and issue is fixed.

Wi-Fi Radio Signals from your Router fall off as the cube of the distance. Provided you are close to your Router and have clear line of sight and no competition from neighbors' Routers or known interference producers like microwave ovens, you should not be having issues.

All others need to do a more careful analysis to find out what is happening.

Wireless diagnostics:

Hold down the Option key while you click on the Wi-Fi icon on the menubar to open up the tools for investigating and fixing Wi-Fi issues

Choose "Open Wireless diagnostics", which opens the wireless diagnostics Assistant, but does not proceed.

NB> Wireless Diagnostics is an App that puts up its own MenuBar.

Using its Window menu, there are about eight different things you can do from here,

Assistant (default window)

Info

Logs

Scan

Performance

Sniffer

Sidecar

Diagnostics

The top-level is to choose Diagnostics off the Window menu, or simply click (Continue) to do a quick check for Gross misconfiguration or operating problems. Your Admin password will be required. If any recommendations are shown, you should consider then seriously.

Next is to hold down the Option key and click the Wi-Fi icon as before. The screen that opens shows operating parameters of your Wi-Fi network. There is a great deal of valuable information in those numbers.

Readers are eager to interpret what is going on from the values there. Screenshot, transcribe, or photograph the results and post back in a reply on the forums. Looks like this older one.
