system can not update to 26.4.1, even though it's a 2022 M2 w/ 400GB space

My wife's Macbook Pro, iOS 26.3 will not update to iOS 26.4.1, tried numerous times and either I get "your computer is up to date, 26.3", or I get a system can't complete or find what your looking for, and in one instance, I was prompted with the "Update to 24.4.1", but when I initiated the update, it got as far as 500M downloaded then just hung, then crashed. What is the solution? I've tried for 2 hrs to locate "Apple Chat" to get online help, but it doesn't appear to be there anymore.

Was asked to explain how I got my iOS reinstalled after it failed to Update. Steps are below:

Steps to Re-install iOS system

- Back up system

- Turn Off System

- Restart holding down on/off button until Options appears then release on/off button

- Once screen pops up, showing 4 options:

- Restore from Time Machine

- Reinstall macOS Tahoe

- Web Browser

- Disk Utility

- Choose “Reinstall” and “Continue”

- This will Reinstall latest iOS

- Will ask to unlock system, need system PSWD

- Installer will show “Macintosh HD”, select

- Will take 1-2 hrs to download & install

- Will need Apple ID & Apple PSWD to complete setup

Let us first establish if this computer can see the Full Version of mcOS 26.4.1 ?

Terminal command below and press the Return key

 softwareupdate --list-full-installers

If Yes, this Terminal command below and press the Return key

softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 26.4.1

Though this statement " it got as far as 500M downloaded then just hung, then crashed "

system can not update to 26.4.1, even though it's a 2022 M2 w/ 400GB space
