iOS 26 ruins the sleep function on the health app?

since iOS 26, the sleep function recording has deteriorated in that it records ANY movement as the recipient being awake. so my 8 hours in bed that used to record about 7 hours of sleep time has now reduced to around 4 hours!

Depressing reading in the mornings!

I have spoken to apple regarding this, who initially denied any changes had been made but when I spoke to a different agent, it was recognised that a problem exists, although no advice was offered, 'just wait for the next update'!

I have now discontinued wearing my watch at night as I do not wish to see the depressing readings in the mornings!

If you google it there are many people suffering similar experiences.

Not good enough apple!

Since the watchOS 26 upgrade, the Sleep app on the watch does not work as before. My Sleep app on my Ultra 2 shows long phases of being awake, just because I checked the time while turning from one side to the other, for example. Or it adds a nap after getting up and sitting at the table after breakfast, reading the newspaper on my iPad.

You should also report this directly to Apple Techs by using the Feedback link. The more users do that, the more likely we will see an improvement, hopefully.

Feedback - Apple Watch - Apple

To manually correct the result, I open the Health app -> Sleep -> Today -> tap on the Sleep graph, scroll down the next screen to -> Show all data -> All Recorded Data -> Awake ->> Awake Intervals -> swipe the incorrect data to the left to delete it, or tap on the "Edit" button to do so.

After that your sleep data will reflect the changes and be correct.
