Reset RAID Controller, but it will not accept default passwords

Hi,

I need to make some changes to my RAID config, but ran into an issue. The passwords I was given (I did not set up the RAID) does not work.

I found kb/HT2758 and reset the controller according to that. It worked, however, I still cannot administer the RAID even using the default passwords. Any ideas?

multiple machines, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

This is becoming increasingly frustrating. Now that I've reset the controller, I need to configure it back to my static IP-- however I still cannot access the Xserve Raid using RAID Admin.

Even trying the soft reset (the one that just changes the passwords) It does not respond. I see the "Xserve Raid" in the list when I try to add. I click on it, and enter "public" as the monitoring password.. Click OK, then it just says connection failure.

I've run into exactly the same problem today: I updated the IP addresses of our Xserve RAID from within RAID Admin and have been unable to connect since. RAID Admin "discovers" the RAID, spins for a bit and then says "Connection failure" - rather unhelpfully. Nothing appears in the Console while it is doing this.

I have reseated, restarted, completely powered down, reset, connected with just a laptop and no other network, tried RAID Admin 1.5.0 and 1.5.1 on Mac OS X Server 10.4.11 and Mac OS X 10.6.5 - but I simply can't connect to the RAID any more: neither controller. The only other thing I could try would be to get the spare controller out of the AppleCare spares kit and try that.

What is going on here?
