iPhone Siri Intercom says "you don't have HomePods

You don’t have any HomePods. Intercom issue, Siri on my wife’s iPhone if she tries to address a room gets back “you don’t have any HomePods” works fine on my phone, and works for her if she does it from one of the HomePods, she’s admin in home account, has intercom set to anywhere, can address the whole system from intercom in home app, but through Siri trying to address a room, gets you don’t have any HomePods. Thought maybe software/hardware, put her on my iPhone 16 pro with latest software, still same issue. Losing my mind trying to figure this out

Ok, well in case you’re in the same boat, I did figure this out, for some reason she had a second copy of “my home” in the home app, with nothing connected to it that she was listed as owner on. As soon as that was deleted, works fine!

Glad you figured it out! That's actually a really interesting find. Having a duplicate home in the Home app is something a lot of people don't think to check.

For anyone else who might run into this, it can happen if you accidentally create a second home or if accessories get moved between homes. Siri gets confused when there are multiple homes and it doesn't know which one to use for the Intercom feature.

To check for this yourself, open the Home app, tap the Home icon in the top left, and look under Home Settings. If you see more than one home listed, make sure your devices are all in the right one and delete any empty or duplicate homes.

It's wild how these small things in the Home app can cause such confusing issues. Thanks for sharing the solution!
