Apple Pay round QR-Code scanning issue on iPhone

Hi!

My iPhone (17 series) won’t scan the new round Apple Pay QR code that appears when trying to use Apple Pay in Chrome (on macOS 26, for example)...

• “Scan QR Code” in the Camera settings is enabled, and it works flawlessly with standard square QR codes.
• My location is Austria, Apple Pay is enabled and works in Safari as well as a "virtual physical" credit card.
• iOS version: 26.3.1 (a)
• The iPhone is unlocked and not in macro photography mode.
• Scanning this “round Apple Pay QR code” has worked before, but currently I can’t check out on Alibaba.com, for example.

I would greatly appreciate any tips to resolve this issue!
