my Mac Studio m4 isn't recognising my canon Lide210. I have connected it directly via the usb cable, but it isn't recognising it or powering it. Does anyone else have this problem?

Using the Canon LiDe 210 on modern macOS 26 Tahoe requires third-party software as official drivers are discontinued.
The most reliable solution is VueScan, which supports the scanner without vendor drivers.
Thank You for letting me know and giving me a work around. Considering it's meant to be the latest macOS on an expensive machine, I would have thought that it would be able to connect to such a simple scanner. Forced obsoletion should be a thing of the past in a world of finite resources IMHO. Thank You again for your help.

It seems like we are both clinging to some old-school values, like being able to just clean and re-gap the spark plugs in our cars.
But those days are long gone.
