Apple Intelligence not working

iPhone 16 pro max iOS 26.4.1

after the most recent iOS update my Apple Intelligence is not working despite it being turned on plz help

iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 18

Apple Intelligence downloads can take a long time due to large file sizes, high demand on Apple’s servers, a slow or unstable internet connection or limited storage on your device.

Make sure your Wi‑Fi is strong, your iPhone has enough free space and the screen stays on while downloading to avoid delays.

Right, sorry. The playground app when I open it, tells me that I have to have Apple Intelligence enabled even though when I go in settings it already is. Also when I talk to Siri the edges of my phone screen don’t light up which is an indication that Apple Intelligence is not on. All this started after I updated to the latest iOS.
