Remote Mac is muted when using Screen Sharing to remote into it--and it doesn't un-mute when I disconnct :-(

Screen Sharing app is muting the audio on remote computer automatically. This might have come with recent updates to either Mac in the connection but it is redirecting audio from the remote mac to the mac I'm using to connect to it. Very frustrating because I can not change the Mute setting on the remote computer and it doesn't un-mute when I disconnect ;-( (I'm remoting into a Mac Mini I use as Apple Music server that's embedded in a console stereo so I have to pull it all apart and hook up a monitor and keyboard and mouse just to un-mute the dang thang!:-|

Modern macOS High-Performance screen sharing  automatically redirects remote system audio to your local Mac and flags the remote output as muted to prevent feedback loops. Without a physical display or dummy plug attached, the headless Mac Mini fails to restore its original audio state upon disconnect.

You do not need to pull apart your console stereo. You can instantly toggle or un-mute the Mac Mini via network terminal commands or control it using a lightweight companion app.
