MacBook extended monitor: right side of screen on left

On my external monitor a portion of the right side of my screen is on the left( Seen In image). no matter the display arrangement (whether its the main display or extended display) It was never like this for the weeks ive been using this setup and i dont recall ever changing my settings. my monitor is an Acer - Nitro Gaming 31.5" Curved WQHD 180Hz 1ms FreeSync Premium Gaming Monitor (DisplayPort, HDMI x2) - Black

Model: EDB323QU S3bmiipx. even after a system reset of the monitor its still doing it so it must be the macbook.

That Acer EDB323QU appears to be 2K display with 8 bits/color and supports refresh rates 48 to 180 Hz.

Interfaces include:

2x HDMI 2.0 -- up to 14.4 G bits/sec supports refresh rates to 144 Hz without compression

DisplayPort 1.4 -- up to HBR3 at 25.92 G bits/sec supports refresh rates to 240 Hz without compression

This is not likely to be problem inside your Mac or with your cables, adapters or Docks.

This is far, far more likely to be a setting changeable inside the display -- by changing 'On-screen Display' settings. The most likely is Horizontal picture position adjustment, which micro-adjusts where the picture is shown horizontally on the face of the display.

Exact terminology for these kinds of controls varies by display-maker.
