My Mac turns on the keyboard, but not the screen—the screen is barely visible.

In other words, the screen is black.

What should I do?! Help!

If you can see faint video on the screen, then either the backlight needs to be adjusted, or the laptop has a hardware issue causing the no backlight issue.

What is the exact model of your laptop? You can get this information by using the Apple check coverage page here:

View Coverage - AppleCare & Warranty

If you have an Intel Mac, then try performing an PRAM Reset (hold it for two chimes if possible, unfortunately some Macs may not get to the second chime).

If you have an Apple Silicon Mac, then boot into Recovery Mode and launch the Terminal app from the Utilities menu on the menubar and issue the following command to clear the NVRAM (aka PRAM):

nvram -c

Reboot the laptop to see after this command to see if you can see the video clearly on the laptop's display.
