iPod Nano 3rd Gen music not syncing on Monterey

I am not able to load music files onto my iPod Nano 3rd Generation. I am running a Mac Mini on Monterey 12.7.6.

The iPod shows up in the Finder, but without any tabs or sync option. It shows up in iTunes but I cannot drag and drop files into the iPod icon.

When I click on the iPod icon in iTunes it directs me to set up the iPod in the Finder. However, this is not possible.
