Hi all, my iphone air cannot connect via usb type c to my new MSI portable monitor. I also tried to connect iphone in wireless and then plugin type c to monitor.. Monitor wakes up and then goes down on black screen. Do you know if there are some tricks to use? (with Ipad and ipad pro don't have any problems)

Does this monitor have its own power supply? Either its own AC power adapter, or a dedicated mobile power pack? If not, that may be the problem.
I believe that your iPhone might be able to provide as much as 4.5W to another device that supports USB-C Power Delivery. Most portable monitors want a lot more than that.

Just in case anyone wants to know. THIS, is the correct answer. If the Author needed a phone which can connect to an external monitor, they bought the wrong iPhone.
One option here is AirPlay. Quite possibly the only one.
The MSI PRO MP165 E6 portable monitor itself does not list support for AirPlay or AirPlay 2, so an Apple TV 4K or some other AirPlay or AirPlay 2 receiver box would be required.
And the USB-C to HDMI adapter doesn’t list iPhone Air.
And yes, this’ll be awkward.

Good catch. I forgot about that. Even a monitor with its own power supply would be useless if there isn't any video signal. The iPhone 16e and 17e also lack DisplayPort support, and would run into the same problem.
