iOS 26.4.2: iPhone alarm volume too loud, resets

My phone is updated to the latest iOS 26.4.2 and ever since my alarm sound is SOOOO LOUD!!! I went to Sounds and Haptics to turn down the ringtone and alerts volume slide but every time I change it to the very lowest it resets and the soundbar goes back up. What is the fix? It was not like this before. The surprising LOUD sound is jarring and annoying if you have multiple alarms and are in a quiet place.

To the OP and ALL those Affected...

Expressing or conveying auditory experiences effectively through these forums may be challenging. The underlying sound issue on your iPhone cannot be accurately diagnosed from a YouTube link. Factors such as your iPhone's specific sound settings, visual defects, and potential hardware problems cannot be assessed through this method. Alarm volume issues are not always the fault of the iOS update!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

If the alarm volume on your device seems unusually loud and you’re attributing it to an iOS update, consider this: if the update itself were the cause, then every user who installed that version of iOS would experience the same issue. In that case, the forums would be overflowing with complaints. Since no such widespread reports exist, it strongly suggests that this is not an iOS-level problem but rather a device-specific issue.

I am also having the same issue. I’ve tried every possible fix that I’ve come across and still get volume blaring alarm. Each night before I go to sleep I turn my alarm on and manually up the volume clicker to have it as low as possible and then put the slider right down so I have a very quiet alarm so I don’t wake up in a explosion of sound and panic. Now every since the latest update the minimum alarm volume is so much louder!
