iPhone 16 Pro Max wireless charging overheating and slow

Wireless Charging Issue

Recently I’ve found Wireless charging doesn’t work very well and causes the phone to overheat to the level that the heat warning message comes up.

It says slow charger when using it too and it usually just stays on the same percentage and overheats so bad.

This is using two different wireless chargers and also the cars charger pad.

Cable charging is fine.

I had the back of the phone replaced because they suspected it could be the wireless coil in the back that was damaged but it hasn’t helped at all.

I’m wondering if a recent update has done this?

Several issues. Non-MagSafe2 chargers are usually 7.5 watts, which is not enough to fast charge an iPhone 16. And yes, wireless charging is inefficient, so, as the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics tells us, it will generate more heat than wired charging.

So the best thing to do is get a high quality, non-junk wireless charger from Apple, Anker, Griffin, etc.

Who replaced the back of the iPhone? If it wasn’t Apple that complicates troubleshooting.
