Hard shell case for MacBook Neo: yes or no?

I’ve ordered a Macbook Neo and I want a to protect it as much as possible, but want to know before buying a sleeve whether a hard shell case is okay. I’ve heard mixed opinions that it damages the hinges over time and traps heat, or that it’s absolutely fine, can anyone advise me what the better option is?

Thank you!

I got my Neo a couple of weeks ago and immediately bought a case. Since the Neo is like an iPad, with passive cooling through the aluminum case, I think the risk of overheating is minimal. Mine runs very cool. I have no idea what the concern over hinges is. My case has zero interaction with the hinges, so I'm not aware of a concern around that. I have always protected my Apple devices with cases (a little anal, I guess), but it pays off over the long term. My iPhones and iPads are traded in in mint condition, and that's the way I like it. I would go for it. Keep in mind that there are a number of reputable hardshell cases on Amazon that are much cheaper than in the Apple store. Just sayin'
