iPhone not charging past 80%, displays temp warning

To optimize your battery, your iPhone might stop the charge at 80% ! The main problem is that the iPhone is too hot ! Before any repair, I suggest you to check this article : If your iPhone or iPad gets too hot or too cold - Apple Support (CA)

This is perfectly normal, although unfortunately a bit misleading.

When you have Optimized Battery Charging turned on, it will fast charge to 80%, then post the temperature warning as it slow charges to 100%. It is not overheating but for some reason the engineers decided to make it post that warning.
