Cannot change Widgetsmith widgets on MacBook Air homescreen

I’m using the MacBook Air 13” with M5 chip. When I add my widgets from Widgetsmith to homescreen, and then try and “command+click” to “edit __ widgets” to show one of my other widgets, the button that says widget (where the blue widget word comes up) stays completely grey and gives me no option to change the widget that’s showing. All it shows is the widget that I made most recently in their respective categories.

I’ve made sure that ‘show widgets’ in settings is on for both desktop and stage manager, I’ve updated the Widgetsmith on both my phone and my Mac, I’ve allowed all of the privacy permissions, I’ve restarted my Mac and Shut it down, I’ve deleted and replaced the widgets, I’ve gone into the activity monitor and force quit the Notification Centre thing, but still nothing is changing.

What do I do?
