How to transfer music from iPod to new laptop

Unless I'm very much mistaken, iTunes cannot copy music (or "transfer music") back into iTunes. Mention of transfering files refers to documents etc. but not to music (usually referred to as "media").

It provides information on the limitations of iTunes etc. and also has an extensive list of software that can recover the music. Some of the software is free, but most of it has limitations on how many songs you can transfer. Media Monkey is particularly good.
