Myanmar keyboard 'ေ' vowel typing inconsistent on macOS/iOS
Inconsistent Myanmar Keyboard Typing Logic Between macOS and iOS/iPadOS
Body: Hello Apple Community and Engineering Team,
I am a native Myanmar (Burmese) language speaker and an active user of the Apple ecosystem, typing extensively across my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook on a daily basis.
I am writing to report a significant and long-standing inconsistency regarding the official Myanmar keyboard layout between macOS and iOS/iPadOS. Specifically, the keystroke sequence (typing logic) for syllables containing the vowel "ေ" (U+1031) is completely reversed between the platforms.
The Issue (For Example): To type the word "နေ" (Nay):
- On iPhone/iPad: We are forced to type the vowel first, followed by the consonant -> [ ေ ] + [ န ]
- On Mac: We must type the consonant first, followed by the vowel -> [ န ] + [ ေ ]
This specific inconsistency applies to every single word that uses the " ေ " character. Consequently, there is zero consistency across the ecosystem. It completely breaks our muscle memory when switching between a MacBook and a mobile device, leading to constant typos and a highly frustrating typing experience.
Long-standing Frustration: I have been facing this exact problem ever since I started using Apple devices and incorporated a Mac into my workflow. Shockingly, this issue has persisted across at least 4 major iOS and macOS updates without any proper resolution. Typing any word that requires the " ေ " vowel sequence is incredibly inconvenient and severely disrupts the typing flow for all Myanmar users.
My Request: As someone who deeply understands the Myanmar language and relies heavily on Apple devices, I kindly request that this feedback be escalated directly to the Apple Localization and Keyboard Engineering Team.
The typing logic needs to be harmonized across all Apple operating systems (preferably standardizing to the logical order [Consonant + Vowel] which is the correct Unicode standard) to ensure a seamless ecosystem experience.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
