iCloud for Windows: Calendar/Contacts not syncing to Outlook
iCloud for Windows not syncing iCloud calendar to Outlook classic on new Windows11 PC
I was setting up a new PC and couldn't get the above to work. The option to turn on syncing for Calendar and Contacts has been replaced by a message saying you can add them to "New" Outlook by adding your iCloud account to Outlook. I have no interest in going to "New" Outlook until MS does something to prevent me from using the version I prefer. But I decided to try adding my iCloud account to Outlook, which was pretty straight-forward. I could see my iCloud emails, but no Calendar or Contacts. So, I compared the version of iCloud for Windows to the working one on an older PC and found that there is a newer version which is installed through the MS Store. After some searching I found that the older (working) version (15.7.56.0), is available at https://icloud.en.uptodown.com/windows/download/1142478637 . I downloaded that version and everything is working as (I feel) it should.
I wasted a lot of time on this, so I thought I'd post this in case anyone else has the same issue.
