Apple ID asks for old MacBook Pro password I don't have

When trying to sync my Apple ID on my old phone it keeps asking for a password on a Macbook Pro that I don't have anymore since years and of which I also don't remember the password anymore. Basically I cannot use this apple ID anymore just because I don't know the access code to a shredded computer anymore. i have already removed the device from my apple ID , i have restarted my new phone. Who has more ideas?

You may want to check whether or not that old phone is still signed in using the old password ... ie: Look in Settings > [Your name]

____

If so: One way is to proceed to reset the forgotten password:

See: If you forgot your Apple Account password - Apple Support

Eg: says:

  1. "Open the Settings app, then tap [your name].
  2. Tap Sign-In & Security.
  3. Tap Change Password.
  4. Enter your device passcode. Then follow the onscreen instructions to change your Apple Account password.

You may need to get a verification from a computer or device that Apple trusts to enter on the old phone : See: Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support

If the old phone already has the correct Apple Account details in Settings:

Check whether the old phone is using the newest available iOS version:

(Updates often contain bug-fixes and security uopdsates)

You can look in Settings > General > Software updates to reveal whether or not an update is available. Reminder: If you choose to update it is always wise to back-up the iPhone first.
