MacBook Pro M2 (16-inch) won't power on and is unresponsive

I’m having an issue with my MacBook Pro M2 (16-inch). I shut it down normally, but when I tried to turn it back on just a few minutes later it wouldn’t power up at all.

Here’s what I’m seeing:

- The charger light is green, even though I’m sure the battery wasn’t fully charged

- Pressing the power button does nothing

- No Apple logo, no screen activity, no sound

- the trackpad does not click (it is basically like a brick)

What I’ve already tried:

- Holding the power button for 10–15 seconds (force shutdown)

- Plugging into power and waiting

- Trying to turn it on again

Still completely unresponsive.

Has anyone experienced something like this with an M2 MacBook? Could this be a battery issue, logic board problem, or something else?

Any troubleshooting steps or ideas would really help.

Thanks!

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 26.4

Welcome and thank you for sharing your concerns, kabindi. 😉

Unfortunately, there are no current Apple Service Programs for your MacBook Pro.

However, a free inspection could uncover a surprising resolution.

Therefore, I recommend service.
