Siri "tell me the news" fails with "station not available

One of the features of Siri and iOS (for years now) has been to ask Siri to "tell me the news". Siri then provides a summary of news from the top news source available. This feature has been patchy to the say the least. Quite often the replies from Siri are "That station is not available" or "Sorry, I wasn't able to get that station." As with everything relating to Siri, this has only ever worked roughly half of the time. Now, it seems fail 100% of the time. This has been so for 3 days straight now.

If possible, please try this and let me know if it works for you (in which country). It'll help identify if it's the primary news source in my location (the UK) is unavailable or whether the issue lies with Apple i.e. with Siri.

Your help is much appreciated.

Many thanks.

petelingo ~ It works for me (not in the UK) on iOS 26. Consider upgrading from iOS 18 to 26:

Also, as your iPhone 13 mini could be 4½ years old, it's worth checking for a weak, aging battery (which can cause connectivity issues.) So...

Does your iPhone 13 mini still have its original battery?

And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...
