iPad Pro 12.9-inch (6th gen) display intermittent dark spot

I have a dark spot that appears on my IPad display. It comes and goes. Always appears in the same location. It is circular and about 10mm diameter. Light gray in colour. It will disappear if I press the back of the display at the same point. I note that others have had similar issues. A thread with the same issues around 2023 is the exact same fault as I have. There were hundreds of recorded (me too) occurrences at that time. What can be done to rectify this issue? iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (6th generation). Version: 26.4.2. Model No: MP223B/A

iPhone 17 Pro Max, iOS 26

Welcome to the Apple Support Community.

Your described difficulty is clearly unrelated to the installed version of iPadOS.

Given the nature of the problem, in that it responds to physical pressure applied to the iPad casing, you would be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to hands-on assess your iPad:

Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

If a hardware issue that requires repair is identified, Apple will usually exchange a qualifying iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for repair.

As for out-of-warranty repair costs, Apple offers a fixed-price price repair. You can verify eligibility and cost for your region/country here:

iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support

If you have an active AppleCare+ plan, the cost of repair is reduced to a small excess/deductible fee.
