I was trying to install Final Cut Pro and Motion (for which I have a license and that I'm able to install in my MacBook Air M4) in an iMac 27" (2017) running Mac OS 13.7.8 and apparently that isn't possible since it needs OS 15.6 or above. The "Install previous version" option is no longer available. This doesn't seen right. Any suggestions?

So I found. This is very unfortunate and a betrayal of customers. I contacted support (where I was told the same) and I've written to Apple protesting. Not only they are forcing the subscription model, but they are also turning a perfectly functioning computer into something that can no longer be used to its full capacity due to this limitation regarding availability of former installers. It's not obsolescence due to the normal evolution of software requirements, but forced obsolescence due to the impossibility of installing software one owns!
Apple has stopped making past versions of pro apps available. Sorry...
The subscription model won't get you past versions, either. So it's not "forcing" that.
I agree, Apple seems to be using this for force hardware upgrades, IMHO.
