Hello again Grant,

Iv'e just updated my iPad mini to version 26.5 hoping that might be the solution to the Hearing Aid issue. No such luck I'm afraid: no sign of hearing test or hearing aid.

Rather despondent, I searched Google with the following: “hearing health features unavailable on airpod 3 pro uk”

The response:

AI Overview

As of mid-2026, the Hearing Test, Hearing Aid, and Hearing Protection features for AirPods Pro (2nd and 3rd Gen) are restricted in the UK due to regulatory approval requirements. These features require specific medical device authorizations that have not yet been finalized in the UK, making them officially unavailable.

Key Unavailable Features (UK):

• Hearing Aid: Clinical-grade amplification for mild-to-moderate hearing loss.

• Hearing Test: In-app, clinical-grade audiogram test.

• Hearing Protection: Active noise reduction designed to meet EN 352 standards (varies by certification).

Important Notes:

• Alternative Availability: These features are available in other regions, such as the US and parts of the EU.

• Requirements: When they do arrive, they require the latest AirPods Pro firmware, and iOS 18/macOS Sequoia or later.

• Workarounds: Some users have reported that changing their iPhone region to the

• US may reveal the features, though this is not an official solution.

Bloody Wonderfull!

Thanks for the reply. I've looked at what must be all pertinent pages on Apple Support and any other suggestions on the internet since my iPad mini and AirPods Pro 3 arrived from Amazon last week. All suggestions tried, no positive result.

What would encourage me no end is someone reporting that they have the same hardware as me and are able to access the Hearing Aid feature and the Hearing Aid feature.

Incidentally, everything else seems to work. I have downloaded the mimi hearing test app, and that works fine.

AirPods version 8B40, iPadOS version 26.4.2

Thanks for your attention!

Yes, tried that about a week ago. Spoke to two people about the issue: the second person was in Singapore - promised much but not heard from him since, in spite of the fact I sent, as requested, a message describing my issue.

Thanks for your attention, but I have resolved my issue by returning the iPad mini to Amazon. For some reason I was unable to return the AirPod Pro 3 (on the same order). However, I'm not to bothered about that as they fit me well and connect to my Windows laptop without fuss.

But thanks anyway
