Poppins font unavailable in Keynote/Pages on macOS Tahoe 26.4.1
I’m running into a very strange font issue on macOS with Apple apps only, specifically Keynote and Pages. The Google Font “Poppins” is fully installed and validated in Font Book, but it does not appear at all in the font menus of Keynote or Pages. What makes this especially confusing:
- Adobe apps (Photoshop, etc.) can see and use the font perfectly.
- Font Book shows the complete Poppins family correctly installed.
- Font validation returns all green checkmarks.
- The font files are physically present in /Library/Fonts.
- The font family does NOT appear in Keynote or Pages at all, even when searching directly for “Poppins”.
System details:
- macOS 26.4.1 (25E253)
- Keynote 15.2.1
- Latest Pages version
- Apple Silicon MacBook Pro (M1 Max)
Things already tried:
- Removed and reinstalled the complete Poppins family multiple times
- Rebooted the Mac several times
- Disabled Adobe Creative Cloud font syncing completely
- Removed duplicate font installations
- Validated fonts in Font Book
- Reinstalled Keynote
- Created completely new empty Keynote and Pages documents
- Reset Keynote containers/preferences/plist files
- Cleared macOS font databases using: atsutil databases -remove
- Fonts are installed system-wide in: /Library/Fonts
Additional observation:
- Other non-Apple apps can use Poppins normally.
- Only Apple apps seem unable to detect the font family.
At this point it feels like a CoreText / font indexing issue specific to Apple apps. Has anyone encountered this before, or found a reliable fix?
