Logic Pro loves to have more than the minimum RAM and it loves to have plenty of storage (drive space).
If your friend is serious about music, don't let them buy an iMac with less than 24 GB RAM and not less than 1 TB drive capacity.
Logic's sound library will eat almost 100 GB of storage, and additional plug ins, sounds, loops and samples will consume more as your friend uses the app over time.
