iPhone 16 Pro flashlight turns on during calls & Camera app

My flashlight turns on when

1) starting a phone call

If I switch from speakerphone to not speakerphone, it turns off during the transition and then turns on again

2) starting a FaceTime call

3) opening the camera app (but not in 3rd party came apps like Indigo or in Facebook messenger )

flashlight will turn off when call ends or camera exited

iPhone 16 pro

Currently on 26.4.2, but behaved same on previous os versions.

factory reset did not help.

OK, try Settings/Accessibility/Audio & Visual/Flash for Alerts and turn it off if it is on.

Certainly an interesting issue and not one I've seen reported on this forum by anyone else. I think I'd schedule a visit to my Apple Store Genius Bar and show this odd behavior to Apple --> Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

Open the Camera app. Tap on the lightning flash icon in the upper right. It cycles between Flash On, Flash Off, and Flash Auto. Leave it set to Off or Auto.
