Mac mini: Magic Keyboard grayed out, cannot disconnect

Mac mini has bluetooth icon displayed at the top of display. Click on that bluetooth icon and Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard display but the keyboard it grayed out. Click on settings/bluetooth and everything looks normal, but cannot click on "forget this device" and "disconnect" are both grayed out. Keyboard is working fine now, but was unresponsive 30 minutes go with 57% battery charged. Older bluetooth Magic Keyboard with Lightening port.

Be wary of turning off Bluetooth while you are still using a wireless keyboard, mouse or trackpad. Once turned OFF you'll need a wired keyboard and/or mouse to reenable it.


If a reboot of the computer doesn't sort things out, your keyboard will have a power switch on it. You can turn the keyboard OFF to disconnect it from the Mac.
