Impossible to know. Since no one here has access to your Mac or Apple's update servers, there's no way for us to know what went wrong.

What happened when you tried to update this last 3 times? Did it issue an error?

If so, what did it say?

Did it simply restart?

Do you have any VPN, anti-virus or other cleaning or security apps installed? If so, you may want to remove them and try to install the update again.

Provide some details and context and someone here may be able to offer some more specific advice.

Are you running any anti-virus software on your Mac? If so, remove it. Then try the update again. Are you attempting the update over a VPN connection? Again, that may be a problem.

You may have a really slow Internet connection between your ISP and Apple's servers which may be causing a time out condition in the update process. Have you since been successful?

I just updated to Sequoia v15.7.7 on my Core i7 3.8 Ghz 2020 iMac without issue.

I updated to the new version the other day on both my 2023 M3 MacBook Air and my 2024 M4 Mac Mini, and except for one "strange" issue, all is well. For the Mini, I no longer have a start-up chime. It makes no sound at all on start up. No issue with the MacBook Air. Checked the setting in the Sound System Preference, and both are the same. Anyone esle have this issue?

If you have external speakers or headphones plugged into the Mac mini's Headphone port. Unplug those from the Mac mini, adjust the Mac mini's internal speaker volume, restart and listen for the chime, then reconnect the speakers or headphones and retest.
