iPadOS update: Colors hard to read, need high contrast

My ipad recently updated to 26.4.2 & made the colour scheme even more difficult for me to read with my bad vision. Is there a way to make the entire OS high contrast or any other way to make it easier for me to see? I am fine with software updates, but please do not mess with the colours. Or at least provide a means for users to customise the colours.

My favourite thing about Apple products was the OSs were very consistent over the last 2 decades since I have been using them.

Please advise.

You can set high contrast the same as always in Settings ➜ Accessibility ➜ Display & Text Size ➜ Increase contrast and Reduce Transparency.

Also, you can change other settings to reduce the Liquid Glass transparencies and provide better contrast.

I have both of those set. Liquid glass is off / clear.

Even the search no longer works the same. I used to type accessibility & it would show that one entry. This time it showed me every option under accessibility.
