That is almost certainly a scam.

You can ignore it.

All Apple Pay transactions will appear in the relevant card in the Wallet App and require your biometric authentication to actually happen.

There will never be a pre-authorization hold or any thing like that. Your bank or card issuer either approves or declines the charge. Apple is not involved.

Also, Apple Pay never sends text messages about purchases.

Beyond that, any issues with Apple Pay transactions should be directed to the bank or card issuer for the card that holds the transaction in question. Apple has no direct access to cards added to Apple Wallet for security so cannot offer help regarding transactions through Apple Pay.

Apple Pay is a hyper secure payment conduit and these types of messages are almost always scams trying to get you to pay the scammers or give them your personal details.

Welcome and thank you for sharing your concerns, Susie-Apple. 😉

Apple will never send you a text message about Pay‼️⚠️

Important: If you receive a suspicious email or SMS text message that looks like it’s supposed to be from Apple, please email it to reportphishing@apple.com.

Simply block, report and delete the message.
