How to recover unsent, accidentally deleted text in WhatsApp on iPhone?
Hello Apple Community,
I’m hoping someone here may know if there is any possible way to recover unsent text that disappeared while typing in WhatsApp on iPhone.
I was writing a very long and emotionally important message — several paragraphs — and before sending it, a large part of the text suddenly disappeared accidentally. I had not sent the message yet.
I already tried:
- Shake to Undo
- Three-finger undo gestures
- Paste / clipboard
- Long press in the text field
- Reopening WhatsApp
- Checking keyboard suggestions
Unfortunately, nothing restored the text.
My questions:
- Does iOS temporarily cache unsent typed text anywhere?
- Is there any hidden undo/history/clipboard feature on iPhone that could still help recover it?
- Could WhatsApp drafts exist somewhere locally on the device?
- Are there any Apple tools, accessibility features, backups, or keyboard logs that might help retrieve recently deleted typing?
I understand unsent text may not normally be recoverable, but because the message was extremely long and meaningful, I wanted to ask before giving up completely.
Any serious technical suggestions would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you.
