HP LaserJet P1109 not printing with macOS Tahoe

HP LaserJet P1109 not printing with macOS Tahoe, but printed with macOS Sequoia.

All my Apple hardware (iPhone, iPad, MacBooks) printed faultlessly via AirPrint on my HP LaserJet. No problemo.

But since macOS Tahoe : no more printing, even not when using USB. My very old MacBook (2012, macOS : Catalina) still prints via USB.

All my appliances are on the same network.

I see that the driver for my 2012 model is version 6.9 while my latest MacBook has driver 2.3 .

Does anyone have a clue, please ? I posted this problem on the HP Community about one month ago, but I got no reply.

All help will be appreciated.

Thank you for your advice.
I followed it to the last syllable, but to no avail.
I can print (with USB) with my 2012 MacBook Pro (macOS Catalina) but not with my 2024 MacBook (macOS Tahoe).
I was able to print with my 2024 MacBook (while using macOS Sequoia).
So : was there a disabling of the Tahoe printer driver?
All advice is welcome.

Printers/scanners are typically the first causality in upgrading any OS....

you are asking about a 15 year old compatibility(?)

note: he HP LaserJet Pro P1109/P1109w was released around 2010-2011...

If your model is the P1109w (Wireless),

it supports AirPrint, which is built into macOS and often works when drivers fail: About AirPrint

cable connection(?) known issues—

LaserJet P1109/P1109w may face compatibility issues with macOS Tahoe, as official driver support largely ended with macOS Monterey.

Users report that while the printer may work via AirPrint on some networks, USB connections may fail, requiring alternative drivers or older macOS versions.

Thank you for your answer ! I appreciate it very much.

It is indeed a P1109w model, which printed normally via AirPrint with iPhone 11Pro, iPad Pro M4, MacBook M1 Pro, ...

The operating systems were all before the 26-version, so we talk about iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia; AirPrint was smooth and problemless.

Since the 26-version for all these appliances, no more AirPrint.

Moreover no more USB printing possibility with my MacBook Pro M1.

I know this is an old printer, but - honestly - I do not understand why I should throw it away. I still can print via USB with my ancient MacBook Pro 2012 model.

I shall follow all the tips I get here, and keep everybody informed. That will be a job for the weekend.

Once again : I really thank everybody for investing your time in this, as a matter of fact, for anyone else unimportant problem.

Although : maybe there still are people like me around the globe who met the same issue ...
