I just setup my new iMac 2024, copied stuff from my old iMac and ensured I am on the latest version of Tahoe 26.5.
I use safari to access applications on the web such as banking. Most things are working ok, but a number of apps including banking fail to complete the log in process with an unhelpful error message or else they hang. All the faulty apps work ok on my old machine. Any ideas?

An update on my problem with logging into websites on new iMac;
I was put in touch with Apple Support via the supplier of my new computer.They guided me through diagnosis.
Going into Safe Mode cleared the cache & the problem. Now able to log onto all sites via Safari.
The support guy was brilliant & patient.

Have you tried clearing history and Web site data (Safari > Clear History…), then restarting Safari and trying to access the Web sites again?
What happens if you try to access the sites through another browser, such as Firefox?
Just to rule it out as a potential culprit, per chance is your Mac using a VPN to connect to the Internet to access these particular websites?
Is the issue getting access to these sites, or you can successfully access them, but you can't log into them?
I am not using a VPN.
In all cases I can get to the sites, but log in fails with either a message such as "Technical Problem", hanging or looping round with a message. Firefox & chrome have not solved my problem
I am thinking that something got corrupted during the initial setup/copy from old iMac and therefore I should reset my new machine back to factory settings & start again. What do you think?

FWIW, I would suggest any alternative browser but Chrome.
I have cleared history & web data & tried both Chrome & Firefox.
My banking app is now working on both chrome & firefox, but other apps are still giving problems. I also noticed that 1 app (national lottery) is reporting that date & time on computer are incorrect. -They are not...

Yes I had cleared history & web data & then rebooted, but made no difference. I was thinking of trying Chrome but
haven't done that yet
