iPhone 17 battery draining fast after iOS 26.5 update

It is normal for your battery to drain faster after a recent update. Your iPhone needs to rebuild everything and still install things in the background, including Apple Intelligence. Apple even includes a statement in your battery settings saying the same.

Even though you can use your device immediately after an update, certain tasks related to the update continue in the background and might affect battery life and thermal performance. While they're ongoing, you might see the Insight Ongoing iOS Update in Settings ➢ Battery.
