Apple Card - Data Download Frequency

Apple Card - data download question.

Why must I wait until a month end statement to appear, before I can export Transactions? If I have a lot of usage on my Apple Card (i.e. just returned from a vacation), I want to bring that data into my home banking program now, while the transactions are fresh in my mind. I don't want to wait until the end of the month to get access to export transactions.

Most other credit cards allow me to define a date range, and export that data, at any time. My bank data updates every time I launch my finance app (Banktivity). Only my Apple Card makes me wait until the month end statement is published, before I can download the previous month's data. This is a real turn off to using this card more.

Running through the usual month end banking chores, updating balances etc. and I noticed it is now possible to define a date range for Apple Credit Card transactions to download to your personal finance app.

On your iPhone, open the Apple Card in your Wallet, tap the Card Balance, scroll down to Statements and tap Export Transactions. Surprise! There are now Start Date, End Date and File Format fields you can use to exactly define the date range of your data exported and the file format needed.

Sometimes you start out asking WHY, and before you know it, you find the answer to HOW.

Yep it is listed in the Support Article here where you can choose either to export the monthly statements or by Date Range:

  • Export transactions within a date range from your iPhone or iPad
  1. On your iPhone, open the Wallet app and tap Apple Card. On your iPad, open Settings, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap Apple Card.
  2. Tap Card Balance.
  3. Under Statements, tap Export Transactions.
  4. Choose a start date and end date, choose the file format for the transactions, then tap the done (checkmark) button.

That’s just the way it is.

The AppleCard has NEVER been “just like all the other cards.”

It’s intended to be VERY securely observed and managed in near-real-time from your iPhone; all other access means are “less.”

Chase is to assume operations of the card in the mid-term (2027-2028) so I wouldn’t expect any changes before then.

OP here.

It's July 3rd, my last statement from Apple was June 30th. I'm looking at my banking program, and I have successfully imported two AppleCard charges from July 2nd into my credit card ledger. These are current charges, not listed on my June 30 statement.

I don't now who Mac Jim D is (sounds a lot like me, jfdoylejr) but great minds do think alike. Also, this is the first month I have noticed the feature, so I think it is quite new.

Yes, obviously, but that's not what the OP was asking. Did you read the OP’s question? The OP wants to download transactions BEFORE the statement posts, not after. That’s not possible.

Now c'mon, did you even try. Here is my exported transactions that cleared from July 1st to today and obviously the statement for this month has not posted yet.

Maybe there is a misunderstanding, but I understand that as exporting the transitions BEFORE the statement posts at the end of the month.

No one here can answer any WHY question. You are not communicating with Apple in these user-to-user community forums. We are just fellow users.

As has been pointed out, that's just the way it is, the way Apple and Goldman Sachs Bank designed it, period. There is no why.

No problem, I honestly don't know when the change occurred. Your posts are always spot on and have been very helpful here as an active volunteer, the reply to my post just caught me a bit off guard.

Have a great weekend and look forward to working together in any way we can to help others. I certainly have made mistakes as well and will own those too and learn from them. You are a true professional and well respected from my point of view.
