MacBook Neo keyboard: Can I replace white claps with black?

Hey I just got the MacBook Neo for my Birthday and it’s really good so far. But I’m Not sure about the Keyboard. I got the Silver one with white claps. Can I replace it with black Claps? Is that possible?

This is not possible. The caps on the keyboard are not replaceable. Even if the keyboard went bad, the replacement would be the same keyboard that is in the Neo from the factory. You could possibly get a different-colored Neo keyboard. You can, however, possibly find a cover to put over the keyboard that can change the color of the keys with a cover that can't be seen through.

you might want to look at something like this: Keyboard Cover Skin for 2026 MacBook Neo 13"(A18).

if you get one that fits within the keyboard well, you should have no issues. but if it extends beyond the keyboard well, and gets in-between the case and the display, you could run into issues such as described by D.I. Johnson.

FWIW, I've been using a transparent one like the one I linked you to. I used it a few days after getting my Neo, and have not damaged my display. neither with closing the lid, nor transporting it in a carry case. but I did of course get apple care first. after that, I was willing to "roll the dice" with a keyboard protector.

This not really a good idea as a keyboard cover could easily cause screen damage or even breakage.

The current line of MacBooks are built to very tight tolerances and the clearance between the keyboard and the screen is so tight that anything thicker than a sheet of paper can be potentially damaging. Damage of this type is not covered under the standard warranty.

However, if one does choose to use a keyboard cover, obviously it should be removed before closing the MacBook lid.
